Quotes Workflow Overview
This set of guides describes the entire journey of processing a Quote in Stone3D.AI, from the moment a customer sends a request for quote (RFQ) to the point the finished quote is sent back to the customer.
For a detailed reference to every tab and button in the Quote list and editor screens, see Quotes List and Editor. This set of guides adds a business-process point of view, while that other document is a screen/tab reference.

Key Concepts
| Concept | Meaning in the system |
|---|---|
| RFQ (Request for Quote) | A request for a quote from the customer. In the current system, RFQ is not a separate screen/module but rather information attached to a Quote β the RFQ number (RFQ Number), the date the RFQ was received (RFQ Received), and the attached RFQ files. |
| Quote | The quotation β the central unit of the entire process. Each Quote has a unique code (e.g. Q-2026-00025), one or more Line Items, customer information, the responsible people, and a status. |
| Line Item | A quote line within a Quote, tied to a specific Part (a component/assembly to be machined or purchased outside). All Quantity, Pricing, and Lead Time configuration is done at the Line Item level. |
| Quantity Tier | A quantity level to be quoted for a Line Item (e.g. 1, 10, 100 units). Each tier has its own Unit Price, Total Price, and Lead Time. |
Note: the current system has no standalone βReceive RFQβ screen or RFQ module. The entire RFQ concept is expressed through data fields in the Create Quote / Edit Quote screen (see the Receive RFQ chapter). If the system later adds a dedicated RFQ module, this document will need to be updated.
